AB - For about a century oceanographers have tried to understand the budgets and processes
associated with both natural and human‑derived substances entering the ocean. Much of the
early work focused on the most obvious inputs, those carried by rivers and streams. Later
studies investigated sewage outfalls, dumping, and other direct input pathways for pollutants.
Over the past decade or two, however, it has become apparent that the atmosphere is also
not only a significant, but in some cases dominant, pathway by which both natural materials
and contaminants are transported from the continents to both the coastal and open oceans.
These substances include mineral dust and plant residues, metals, nitrogen compounds from
combustion processes and fertilizers, and pesticides and a wide range of other synthetic
organic compounds from industrial and domestic sources.

AB - The constantly growing population of the planet Earth is setting new demands on the needs for
production of larger quantities of food. Fish and other water organisms for human consumption participate
considerably in the food balance on a global level whereby the aquaculture products, due to the limited natural
resources, are gaining more and more in significance. Thus the intensive aqua culture systems are especially
important mostly because of the possibility to yield large quantities of food in limited areas. Оf the total
produced quantity of cyprinid fish in the world, carp production is at a relative level of approximately 18% and
in the last ten years it has ranged between 2,4 and 3 million tons. In Europe, apart from salmon and rainbow
trout, carp represents one of the most significant farmed fish species. Carp is the most farmed fish species in
Serbia. Production is conducted in a proportionally large number and areas of carp ponds in semi-intensive and
intensive methods with increasing application of complete compound feeds. Intensive carp production systems
are gaining more and more in importance, primarily due to smaller areas necessary for construction of ponds
and greater yield per area unit. With the purpose of determining the cost effectiveness of investments in fish
ponds for intensive carp production two organisation-economic models have been analysed in the study. The
models have been formed in line with the specific features of the Serbian carp fishery, which has been analysed
both on the basis of official statistical data and the data obtained from the scientific and specialist literature but
also from the production practice.Models of intensive carp production in technical and production sense have
been defined in the study and production plans have been prepared. Therefore, based on such defined models,
dynamic methods have been prepared for assessment of economic effects of the investments. The results of the
analysis have demonstrated that investment in intensive carp production on 10ha fish farm is not, and on 50ha
fish farm is barely economically justifiable, as well as methods for improvement of economic effectiveness.

AB - Paper presents tire as flammable material and some examples of tire fires in the
world. Uncontrolled tire fires produce a lot of smoke and air pollutants, including
benzene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Great heat leads to the generation
of pyrolytic oil which, when mixed with the fire extinguishing agent, contaminates
the surrounding soil, surface water, and underground water. Paper analyzes and
presents in particular the emission factors of incomplete burning of waste car tires.
Metal dust emissions have been presented, volatile organic compound emissions,
slightly volatile organic compound emissions, and emissions of polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons. Evaluation of the effect on the air quality has been graphically presented
by modelling of uncontrolled tire burning by using EPA “SCREEN 3
MODEL”.

modelling program that estimates hazardous chemical releases, including toxic gas clouds, fires and
explosions. A threat zone is an area where a hazard has exceeded a user specified level of concern

meteorological data. Achieved results represent maximum distance that so2 and No2 pollutants
reach. All major emitters of industry have been modelled and dispersions of pollutants have been
