AB - Heavy metals represent a very significant group of environmental
pollutants because they are potential metabolic inhibitors. Therefore, a study
was conducted where the height of the wheat stem, as well as the surface of the
leaves in the budding and leafing stages, were examined when contaminated
with a mixture of heavy metals in concentrations of 250 and 500 ppm. The aim
of the research was to determine the influence of heavy metals on the initial
phenophase of wheat varieties Pobeda and Ljiljana. An experiment was carried
out in volumetric flasks where two different concentrations of a mixture of
heavy metals 250 ppm and 500 ppm were added under controlled conditions.

AB - The creation of salt-tolerant wheat genotypes can provide a basis for sustainable wheat production in areas that are particularly sensitive to the impacts of climate change on soil salinity. This study aimed to select salt-tolerant wheat genotypes that could serve as a genetic resource in breeding for salinity tolerance. A two-year experiment was established with 27 wheat genotypes, grown in salinity stress and non-stress conditions. Agronomic parameters (plant height, spike weight, number of grains per spike, thousand grain weight, and grain yield/plant) were analyzed in the phenophase of full maturity, while biochemical parameters (DPPH radical scavenging activity and total phenolic content) were tested in four phenophases. Grain yield/plant was the most sensitive parameter to salinity, with a 31.5% reduction in value. Selection based on salt tolerance indices (STI, MP, and GMP) favored the selection of the genotypes Renesansa, Harmonija, Orasanka, Bankut 1205, KG-58, and Jugoslavija. Based on YI (1.30) and stability analysis, the genotype Harmonija stands out as the most desirable genotype for cultivation in saline conditions. The presence of positive correlations between grain yield/plant and biochemical parameters, in all phenophases, enables the selection of genotypes with high antioxidant activity and high yield potential, even in the early stages of plant development.

AB - The rhizosphere is a dynamic environment in which many parameters may influence biogenicity. The important factors determining the microbial community in the rhizosphere are plant and soil nutrient supply. The aim of this paper was to determine the abundance of basic microbiological groups in the rhizosphere of four wheat subspecies, in three fertilization treatments in the organic farming system. A field experiment was conducted using a randomized complete block design with four replicates. It was carried out on the leached chernozem soil type. There was significant variability in the abundance of the studied physiological groups of microorganisms between the wheat subspecies, as well as between the fertilization treatments. The rhizosphere of common wheat had the greatest abundance of fungi (24.37 x 103 g-1 ). The rhizosphere of compactum wheat had the largest abundance of oligonitrophilic bacteria (361.47 x 105 g-1 ) and amonificators (119.27 x 105 g-1 ). There were no significant differences in the abundance of actinomycetes between the cultivars of common, compactum and durum wheat, but their lowest number was found in the spelt wheat cultivar (11.25 x 103 g-1 ). The combined application of biofertilizer and organic fertilizer resulted in a significantly greater abundance of amonificators (56.6%), fungi (28.2%) and oligonitrophiles (14.6%) than in the control treatment. The results show that the crop variety and application of appropriate fertilizer formulations can influence the abundance of the studied groups of microorganisms. This is particularly the case in organic farming, which relies completely on natural resources and processes.

Analiza jednog broja uzoraka mineralnih đubriva različitih količina i odnosa N, P, K
AB - When buying mineral fertilizer, the user expects that the content of nutrients is
in the prescribed minimum values indicated on the packaging and in the
declaration and that the quality of used raw materials does not have a negative
impact on the environment. The analysis of a number of samples of mineral
fertilizers of different quantities and ratios N, P, K showed deviations from the
minimum values of nutri-ent content from the declaration as well as increased
content of certain heavy metals. For that reason, it is necessary that analyzes of
manufactured and imported formulations are more often controlled by the
competent institutions with the prescribed method of sampling.

AB - Plodnost zemljišta predstavlja osnovnu karakteristiku svakog tipa

AB - The assessment of the suitability and status of irrigation water quality from the aspect of its potential negative impact on soil salinization and mapping of spatial distribution within the area of the three Morava rivers, which includes the South, West, and Great Morava basins, was the purpose of this research. A total of 215 samples of irrigation water were tested, and their quality was evaluated based on the analysis of the following parameters: pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved salt (TDS), sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), and content of SO42-, Cl-, HCO3-, CO32-, Mg2+, Ca2+, Na+, and K+. The results showed that the average content of ions was as follows: Ca2+ > Mg2+ > Na+ > K+ and HCO3- > SO42- > Cl- > CO32-. The assessment of irrigation water suitability was determined by calculating the following indices: percentage sodium (Na %), residual sodium carbonate (RSC), permeability index (PI), magnesium hazard (MH), potential salinity (PS), Kelley's index (KI), total hardness (TH), irrigation water quality index (IWQI). Based on Wilcox's diagram, the USSL diagram, and the Doneen chart, it was concluded that most of the samples were suitable for irrigation. Using multivariate statistical techniques and correlation matrices in combination with other hydrogeochemical tools such as Piper's, Chadha's, and Gibbs diagrams, the main factors associated with hydrogeochemical variability were identified.

AB - The total diversity of bacterial and fungal communities associated with the phyllosphere (fruits and leaves) of the 'Williams' pear variety was analyzed in two phenological stages during fruit development and maturation. The antagonistic potential of autochthonous bacterial and yeast isolates against phytopathogenic fungi was also evaluated. A metabarcoding approach revealed Pantoea, Sphingomonas, Hymenobacter, Massilia, and Pseudomonas as dominant bacterial constituents of the pear phyllosphere, whilst most abundant among the fungal representatives identified were Metschnikowia, Filobasidium, Aureobasidium pullulans, Botrytis cinerea, and Taphrina. The traditional culturable approach revealed that the Pseudomonas genus with P. graminis, P. putida, and P. congelans was most prevalent. The most frequently cultivated fungal representatives belonged to the genus Fusarium with six identified species. A broad range of the antagonistic activity was detected for the Hannaella luteola and Metschnikowia pulcherrima yeasts, significantly affecting the growth of many fungal isolates in the range of 53-70%. Fusarium sporotrichioides was the most susceptible fungal isolate. The autochthonous antagonistic yeasts H. luteola and M. pulcherrima might be powerful biological control agents of postharvest diseases caused by Fusarium spp. and common pathogens like Monilinia laxa, Botrytis cinerea, Alternaria tenuissima, and Cladosporium cladosporioides.

AB - The aim of this thesis is testing features and possibilities of using cyanomodified silica-gel as a sorbent of medium polarity for separation in both normal-phase and reversed-phase planar chromatography. Planar i.e. thin-layer chromatography as subgroup of liquid chromatography was chosen due to its simplicity, rapidity and efficiency. Cyano-modified silica-gel, due to the presence of various surface-area active centers (cyano-groups and alkyl-chains inserted by modification as well as nonmodified silanol groups), may achieve several types of specific interactions with separated substances. Thus, within this thesis we thoroughly carried out testing of retention behaviour of different inorganic and organic substances on a thin layer of mentioned sorbent that we assume may have specific interaction mainly with cyano groups of sorbent and, consequently indicate the participation of these active centers in the process of chromatographic separation. In that sense, special attention was paid to investigating sorbends which contain aromatic structure parts, such as mixed (β-diketonate) and (β-ketoiminato) complexes of transition metals with different number of phenyl groups in molecule, various derivatives of phenols as well as triazines and phenoxycarboxylic acids by applying different normal-phase and reversed-phase chromatographic systems. With the same aim, we compared chromatographic behaviour of the same analytes in different chromatographic systems, i.e. on thin layers of sorbents with defined surface active sorption centers. Apart from that, one of the aims of this research was to enhance the use of cyano-modified silica-gel as specific sorbent for hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) as a relatively new chromatographic technique. In addition, the aim of this thesis is to emphasize the practical significance of studied chromatographic besides the theoretical one. Thus, within reversed-phase chromatographic conditions, we examined the use of cyano-modified silica-gel as sorbent for modeling of soil-water partition coefficients normalized to the organic carbon content (logKoc) as one of the key parameters that define the destiny of organic substances in the environment.

The aim of this thesis is testing features and possibilities of using cyanomodified silica-gel as a sorbent of medium polarity for separation in both normal-phase and reversed-phase planar chromatography. Planar i.e. thin-layer chromatography as subgroup of liquid chromatography was chosen due to its simplicity, rapidity and efficiency. Thus, within reversed-phase chromatographic conditions, we examined the use of cyano-modified silica-gel as sorbent for modeling of soil-water partition coefficients normalized to the organic carbon content (logKoc) as one of the key parameters that define the destiny of organic substances in the environment.",

AB - Soil-water partition coefficient normalized to the organic carbon.content (K-OC) is one of the crucial properties influencing the fate of organic compounds in the environment. Chromatographic methods are well established alternative for direct sorption techniques used for K-OC determination. The present work proposes reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography (RP-TLC) as a simpler, yet equally accurate method as officially recommended HPLC technique. Several TLC systems were studied including octadecyl-(RP18) and cyano-(CN) modified silica layers in combination with methanol-water and acetonitrile-water mixtures as mobile phases. In total 50 compounds of different molecular shape, size, and various ability to establish specific interactions were selected (phenols, beznodiazepines, triazine herbicides, and polyaromatic hydrocarbons). Calibration set of 29 compounds with known logK(OC) values determined by sorption experiments was used to build simple univariate calibrations, Principal Component Regression (PCR) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) models between logK(OC) and TLC retention parameters. Models exhibit good statistical performance, indicating that CN-layers contribute better to logK(OC) modeling than RP18-silica. The most promising TLC methods, officially recommended HPLC method, and four in silico estimation approaches have been compared by non-parametric Sum of Ranking Differences approach (SRD). The best estimations of logK(OC) values were achieved by simple univariate calibration of TLC retention data involving CN-silica layers and moderate content of methanol (40-50% v/v). They were ranked far well compared to the officially recommended HPLC method which was ranked in the middle. The worst estimates have been obtained from in silico computations based on octanol-water partition coefficient. Linear Solvation Energy Relationship study revealed that increased polarity of CN-layers over RP18 in combination with methanol-water mixtures is the key to better modeling of logK(OC) through significant diminishing of dipolar and proton accepting influence of the mobile phase as well as enhancing molar refractivity in excess of the chromatographic systems.

AB - The chromatographic behavior of twelve neutral, mixed cobalt(III) complexes of the uns-cis-edda-type has been investigated in six planar chromatographic systems. Four different stationary phases unmodified silica gel, CN-silica, cellulose, and alumina - were combined with water-organic solvent (methanol or acetone) binary mobile phases. The effect of the water content of the mobile phases on retention of the complexes was investigation systematically. On the basis of the results obtained, possible separation mechanisms were considered. Hydrophilic-interaction chromatography was assumed to be the mechanism determining separation tinder normal-phase conditions, i.e. use of mobile phases containing small amounts of water. Reversed-phase chromatography occurs when water-rich mobile phases are used.

AB - The chromatographic behavior of some phenolic compounds has been studied with the objective of understanding the role of cyano groups in the processes of chromatographic separation on thin layers of CN-silica gel. For this purpose separations were performed on thin layers of CN-silica gel, unmodified silica gel, and polyacrylonitrile adsorbent (PANS) using fourteen mobile phases, nine of which resulted in normal-phase systems. On the basis of the results obtained the effect of compound structure (i.e. properties of ortho substituents of the compounds separated) on their retention is discussed. The dependence of the order of retention of the phenols on the properties of the adsorbent was also considered. Plots of retention data (R-M against R-M) determined by use of different chromatographic systems were used to characterize the systems used. The results enabled hypotheses to be formulated about possible mechanisms involved in the separations of the phenols on these adsorbents.

Linear relationships were established between the R, values of tris(beta-diketonato) complexes and the amount [% nu/nu] of acetone in hexane-acetone mobile phases, and between the R-M values of these complexes and the number of acac ligands substituted by phacphac ligands. The results obtained were compared with previously observed chromatographic behavior of the same substances on thin layers of silica gel and polyacrylonitrile. The corresponding separation mechanisms were also considered. It was assumed that under conditions of normal-phase chromatography with solvents of low polarity the retention behavior of complexes containing aromatic rings in the molecule is mainly determined by donor-acceptor interactions of the cyano groups of the adsorbent with the pi-electron systems of the substances being separated.
